Mens 1 vs Harrow M2

In the picturesque setting of our home pitch on a sunny autumn afternoon, we took on Harrow, with high spirits following two previous victories. The game got off to an electrifying start, with the team focusing on maintaining possession and delivering high-ball speed. The first 10 minutes witnessed some of the finest hockey our team had ever played. It didn't take long for us to find the back of the net, as Asif skillfully netted the first goal.

The excitement continued to mount as Toby slotted a precise shot past the keeper, securing our second goal. However, the real spectacle unfolded only moments later. Asif fired a blistering shot towards the back post, and in an act of sheer brilliance, Toby flung himself through the air, deftly deflecting the ball into the net. It was a moment of pure magic that sent the crowd of 4 people into a frenzy.

Despite our offensive prowess, we found ourselves exposed to a Harrow counterattack, leading to a goal conceded and a score of 3-1 as they approached halftime.

During the break, Ealing addressed their vulnerabilities and weaknesses that allowed Harrow to score, strategizing for a stronger second half. The game resumed, but soon Ealing faced adversity as two of their players received green cards. Responding to this challenge, they dropped two attackers back and focused on maintaining possession while running down the clock on the green cards. Ealing admirably controlled the game even with reduced numbers and managed several attacks into the D. Toby secured a hat-trick with a well-executed counterattack.

In the closing five minutes of the match, a collision between Harrow's goalkeeper and Daniel led to an injury that necessitated the game to be called early. The injured goalkeeper was taken to the hospital for further examination and an x-ray, and we wish him a swift recovery.

For his outstanding performance and hat-trick, Toby was named the Man of the Match. With a final score of 4-1, we maintained their momentum in the campaign for promotion in this season. They look forward to their upcoming match against Richmond next week.
