SUNDAY 6TH JULY 2025 SOCIAL HOCKEY FESTIVAL - SCROLL DOWN FOR MORE INFO!

Rediscover the Joy of Hockey with 'Back 2 Hockey'!

Our Social Hockey sessions, also known as ‘Back 2 Hockey,’ are perfect for:

  • Adults returning to hockey after a break.
  • Adults who are looking for a fun, relaxed approach to the sport.

We don't mind "parent & child" play, but it is not for unaccompanied minors. We don’t play competitively in this session, but many participants have transitioned into our Women’s and Men’s teams over time.

Session Details

  • When: Every Thursday evening, 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm
  • (Arrive at 7:45 pm to prepare)
  • Where: St. Augustine’s (click here for directions).
  • Please note, that a secure gate requires an access code—contact us for details.

After the session, we often head to a local pub for a friendly wind-down.

Who Can Join?

This mixed session is open to all adults and suitable for all skill levels, from beginners to those looking for a casual game.

Rules of Ealing HC's Adult Social Hockey

If you want competitive hockey, try adult training instead. This is social hockey, so the rules are:

  1. No unaccompanied minors (but we enjoy parents and their children getting involved).
  2. Hard slap hits and hard hits are a foul, even if into open space. Instead, do pushes.
  3. Pockets of competition are a foul. Watching good players slug it out with each other doesn’t inspire. It intimidates and demoralises. Managers and Captains will decide to whom to award the foul.
  4. Sprinting past opponents with the ball isn’t social. Sprinting into open space to receive the ball is.
  5. If guidelines are being ignored, let us know so we can intervene. It’s better that ten people feel the session is too tame than one person feels it’s too competitive.
  6. Finally, enjoy it. It’s a chance to try new positions and skills. Maybe make up rules just for your team, e.g. “three touches”, or “a designated scorer” or whatever.

Let’s play.
