Mens 2 vs Old Merchant Taylors M4

It is clearly noticeable that the M2 team cohesion and organisation is improving week by week. In a game where the M2 had no substitutes and where Matt, Gianluca and Zeya were playing their second full hockey match for the day, they and the team maintained an impressive high level of energy throughout the entire game.

Gianluca, Dan, Aaron and Sam harassed their opponents all match and kept our game flowing with crisp short passes. Ben was immense as centre back, intercepting multiple passes and distributing with precision. Oscar was sharp in midfield, both in attack and defence, especially blocking the hits at short corners. Bodhi was skilful in attack and had the number on his marker. Hassan was a revelation at the back, showing great composure and movement. Matt was omnipresent in the midfield, always finding space in crowded areas, and spreading several long passes to the attackers. Josh marshalled his defence expertly, repelling several short corners, taking a heavy blow  with a stick to his chest in the final quarter. 

The moment of the match was when Zeya (looking exhausted)decided to take the second half push off, but instead of passing the ball backwards, he decided take the ball forward by himself and take on the whole OMT team, dribbling pass several players to the edge of the OMT D. What a boost it was to team morale.

Surprisingly the game ended 0-0. The boys left on a high, knowing that they have the fitness, skills and organisation to take on any team in this league. Bring it on.
