Mens 2 vs Old Merchant Taylors M4

GUTTED! This is what it feels like being ditched by your girlfriend on your birthday - losing in the very last minute to a short corner goal.

The Rams went 1-0 up after only 14 mins, with a beautifully crafted goal by Bodhi & Aanay, and finished by our top scorer Antosh (in only two matches!). The Rams coach for the day optimistically attributed the goal to his new whiteboard.

Zeya missed a great chance to go two up with a saved penalty flick, then admitted afterwards that no one in the team knew how to take one, so gave it a go (one for the coaches at men’s training, me think!). Gianluca, Hasan, Taran & Jem were immense in defense. A reconstructed midfield of Dan, Sam, Ben, Bodhi & Zeya worked hard & made several penetrating attacks. Aanay & Antosh in attack were unlucky several times.

As in the tradition of the Rams games, there was an injury. Luckily (well not for him!) it was an oppo injury. The umpire raced off for what everyone thought would be the first aid kit, but returned with a cup of Jem’s hot chocolate!

When the game recommenced, The Rams were subjected to several short corners in the last quarter. Josh made several blinding saves from well smashed shots. The Rams finally succumbed to a SC goal in the very last minute. The whistle blew for the end. GUTTED but proud for an excellent overall performance. They haven’t conceded an open play goal this year.

MOTM - Josh (Captain for the day and GK)
