Ealing start strong, playing some lovely hockey, but they just can’t find the back of the net in the first quarter. Maidenhead capitalise on this and their confidence grows in the second quarter and score 2 goals in quick succession. Ealing dig deep and Daisy scores the first goal for Ealing just before half time. So the half time score is 1-2 to Maidenhead.
Ealing start very strong in the second half with Lauren and Maria linking perfectly, setting Lettie up to score Ealing’s second goal, a perfect response straight after half time.
Soon after, still early in the second half Lettie passes to Maria, who once again sets up Lauren to score, taking Ealing into a 3-2 lead.
Despite chances for both sides throughout the second half the score remains tight with Ealing determined to hold on and secure the win. But in the last play of the game Maidenhead are awarded a short comer, this was a tense end to an exciting and well fought match, but luckily no equaliser for them. Well done Ealing, an excellent win in the Plate competition.
