The U16 boys hosted Surbiton Jackals in the second round of the T3 Cup at St Augustines, this Sunday. The first quarter was evenly balanced with both teams distributing the ball well but just unable to make the last pass count. The deadlock was broken midway through the half as Surbiton managed to shake the Ealing defender to take the opportunity one on one against the GK. Ealing responded well with several good opportunities before a well worked build up gave James space to cross for Bodhi to tap in the equaliser on the back post.
Five minutes into the second half a sharp tackle from James presented space in the last quarter and a quick cross for Callum to shoot into the top corner. The next fifteen minutes saw extended pressure from Surbiton securing two short corners. Eventually the pressure was converted in open play but only for Ealing to respond almost immediately with a third goal, a reverse stick shot from Bodhi. Ealing finished the stronger team and a long diagonal run through Surbiton defensive lines from Oskar in the final ten minutes was finished with a short cross for Aanay to finish: Final score Ealing 4 v 2 Surbiton. Well played boys.
