On Saturday morning we arrived at West Hampsteads ground ready to process our campaign for promotion.
The game started well, all the pressure coming from us we made several attempts on goal but unfortunately, the opposition goalie was on fire stopping our shots one after another. It wasn't until we got a short corner, we took a strike it was saved and rebounded and we took another again it was saved and then Ray took a strike and scored his first of the season! We were now one ahead going into half time. We were aware we needed to create a bigger buffer. Before the second half we acknowledged 2 minutes of silence for the armistice at 11 o'clock we laid down our sticks as arms were once laid down and the pitch fell silent.
After this moving moment we started the second half with intent. We did not relive the pressure, shot after shot on goal finally Toby manages to score an goal in open play to the right hand side of the keeper.
The opposition started trying to get us out of position which created more holes in our press but a great defencive effort ensured it rarely got into our 23 and extremely rarely got inside our D not concededing any goals, hardly a shot on goal and we gave away no short corners. Our midfielders did a fantastic job with distribution and creating attacking opportunities, Daniel (Duczmal) had his best game for us yet. Having fantastic vision and creating opportunities. Daniel, Toby and Ray were all joint man of the match as we had a three way tie.
We now look forward to Osterly next week.
