Dear Ealing HC Family,
As we bid farewell to 2024 and usher in a joyful and active 2025, I want to take a moment to reflect on our incredible journey this past year and share some exciting news for the road ahead.
I was thrilled to find this photo from the 1970s of Ealing Ladies HC by Katie Dodd and Rosie Syke. A legacy we aspire to repeat in our way!
Since the relaunch in 2013, our club has grown exponentially while staying true to its roots. Today, Ealing Hockey Club continues to thrive thanks to the dedication of our members, volunteers, and supporters.
From September 2024 to December 2025, we’ve experienced unprecedented activity. Here are some key moments:
With every junior member now having a dedicated training session and team, the growth has been phenomenal. From our youngest players in Reception! For those in Year 5 and beyond, we’re thrilled to see so many involved in Ealing’s Talent Centre (TC). On our last Sunday alone, over 15 junior teams were in action!
Our junior program’s success comes with challenges, particularly for our amazing volunteers and coaches. Want to lend a hand? Click here to get involved!
Our adult squads are stronger than ever, with five former juniors joining their ranks. Two teams celebrated promotions and are now competing at higher levels under the guidance of Magda Walbaum (women’s teams) and Alex Curtis (men’s teams). Both are poised for even more success in 2025.
Our journey toward becoming an accredited Talent Centre is nearing completion. This milestone reflects 18 months of collaboration with England Hockey and highlights our commitment to nurturing aspirational players from all over West London. Want to learn more? Click here for details.
Even during the Christmas break, over 300 members actively engaged with our Club App. Teamo is vital for organising fixtures, training, and player development. Please ensure your profiles are up to date, and if your child is ready to take responsibility, let them download the app and get started. If you need help setting them up contact Message Heman Parekh
Securing a dedicated pitch has been a personal mission since Ealing HC’s relaunch in 2013. Progress is being made, with growing support from council members and the inclusion of a designated hockey pitch in the ‘Ealing 7 Town Plan.’ Thank you to everyone who signed the petition—together, we’re making this dream a reality.
Launched as a pilot program just six weeks ago, Ealing Flyerz is our inclusive hockey initiative for players with pan-disabilities. Starting January 2025, it will become a regular Saturday morning feature at Ada Lovelace School. Know of someone who may wish to participate or help? Learn more here!
