And it’s a WIN for the women's 2s this week at Ealing!
Southgate, off their win against top of the table last week we’re out for a second today and what a game it was - a real classic.
Ealing fought hard, dominating up front and putting pressure on throughout the game, a few minutes before half time, the forwards put a beautiful 1-2 sequence together and scored a cracking goal. Mary-Helene was back in the centres pinging the ball out to Izzy, Lauren, Kath and Phoebe on the wings. Maddie, Molly, Lettie and Zoe were slick with their movements and passing, securing the team numerous short corners.
After half time it was a real battle, with Southgate coming out of the gate with gumption! A dicey moment came from one of their attacking plays where Ealings scramble Defense had to come all the way back to a goal line save from Sophie! But composure as always from Alyssia and Phoebe plus GK Mia meant the game stayed at 1-0 to Ealing through to the end. Jen also played, but she writes these reports so can’t comment on the quality of her hockey. She is SUPER PROUD of the team for smashing their way into the mid table!
